Disappointments strike without warning. They take us by surprise and leave us battered – yet not completely. If we choose to persevere, God will reveal Himself to us in and through those very disappointments. I wrote this poem after facing many disappointments and I believe you’ll have something to learn from this.
When things unexpectedly go wrong
Don’t cry ! Wait and hear the full song !
When disappointments strike,
Let not your sorrow go on a hike !
Know that God has a purpose –
The Father still loves us and is moulding us !
Only as time flies by and by
can we understand it all – today is a lie !
God has a brighter tomorrow !
In the way of the Cross, patiently row !
But Lo ! Expect not fame, riches or pleasure:
God’s blessings, these things cannot measure !
Jesus is able to change your situation:
But even more! His Word promises regeneration –
A new heart thou shalt freely receive !
Only if the truth, you choose to believe –
Promise of mere riches are the prosperity Gospel:
Know that all such teaching come from Hell !
Trust God to provide for your daily need
His Word, continually hear and heed;
God won’t let you be tempted beyond
what you can bear: but His Spirit’s bond
will sustain you through every tough day !
May you come out as pure gold, I pray !
