What can take us through life’s toughest passages but the Rock-solid promises of our Lord and Savior? I wrote this poem after experiencing God’s faithfulness through a long period of heart-breaking trials, ferocious temptations and disappointing situations. The Lord has been a Rock to me – as He has been and will always be to all those who seek Him with all their hearts.
Fear not my dear child!
Though temptations rock wild,
My Hand rests on you, tender and mild.
I understand your every weakness –
I’ll never put on you, a harness
that is impossible by your standards.
I’m with you in every temptation
Take this into careful consideration:
I also lived in flesh, to win your salvation.
Without My help, none can stand:
There is none Holy in all the land
except those who hold on to My Hand.
I AM that I AM: there is none beside Me.
there never was nor will ever be.
In your weakness, My Strength you’ll see!
Take hold of My Word: ’tis your food.
I lay my Hand on you for your own good:
Obey, trust and walk with all that you could!
I’m with you always even unto the end of age
Behold, I’m the One Who wrote every page
of your life’s story – trust Me through every passage.
I’m the Shepherd and I lead my flock;
When times are uncertain, I’m the everlasting Rock!
I’ll provide for you, just as I feed every skylark.
I’m the One who took you out of your mother’s womb;
I’ll be faithful till you shed your flesh in your tomb
and take your place in one of Heaven’s rooms!
